The Casterton Kelpie Association has been holding the Clark Rubber Working Dog Auction for the past 20 years and it has become an iconic event. People travel from all over Australia to buy or sell their working dogs at the Premier Working Dog Auction in Australia. This year we achieved over $2 million in working dogs sold. Australia's premier Working Dog Auction is held at Island Park in Casterton, Victoria every Queen's Birthday long weekend - for 2017 - 10th and 11th June 2017.
Our reputation is based on the continuous high quality working dogs that are for sale. In 2012 we partnered with Rural Marketing Agents (RMA) to hold a RMA Working Dog Auction Futurity. Held on the Saturday, this event showcases some of the dogs purchased in previous Casterton Clark Rubber Working Dog Auctions.
At our Working Dog Auction on the Sunday, all dogs are given a set limit of time to demonstrate their talents while being worked by their current owner, moving sheep around a course This simulation of work on farm is a great way to see well bred and trained dogs listed for sale. Potentially your future working dog could be among them. You are also provided with the opportunity to speak to the owners of the working dogs prior to the Auction.
We hold the Premier Working Dog Auction in Australia and in 2012 we did it again, and broke the highest priced working dog not once, but twice. Tom was the highest selling dog for $12,000 and this attracted interest from all over the world.
Our auction is known world-wide and attracts visitors from everywhere. Come along and enjoy the weekend in Casterton.
